Americans need a fresh reminder of the amazing nation they have and the power of liberties I see so often taken for granted.
Ali Master
He should know about the American Dream. He’s lived it for over 30 years, coming to the United States as a college student from Pakistan, rising to become a successful high-level executive at Ernst & Young, marrying an American and raising four children, and embracing Christianity over his birth faith as a Muslim. He cherishes the freedoms found in the United States and has written a book, Beyond the Golden Door, to inspire and empower all Americans to fall back in love with their country.
“I have witnessed a decline in the very values that make America a great and free nation,” he adds. “Lady Liberty’s torch still burns, but her light has dimmed. Few in America appreciate the powerful slogan, ‘freedom isn’t free.’ Fewer still comprehend the full impact of those freedoms, having never lived without them.”
He believes that those who embody the American Dream begin with courage and the willingness to do what it takes to preserve freedom, not only on our own soil—but also beyond it.
“The fruits of freedom are not harvested without risk,” writes Master. “Which is riskier, to accept an arranged marriage or to seek out one true love, knowing you risk rejection? Is it riskier to hold onto a status-quo job you don’t enjoy or start your own business knowing more than 50% fail? Is it safer to blindly follow your parents’ faith or walk into a new place of worship where that faith may be challenged? Risk and the American Dream go hand in hand.”
His book outlines the five freedoms he believes are the most precious, including:
Freedom to Fail – everyone deserves a second chance after failing.
Freedom to Love – our culture encourages us to choose the one we want to love for life.
Freedom of Religion – we can embrace our faith free of persecution.
Freedom to Build – anyone can pursue being an entrepreneur or an intrapreneur.
Freedom to Self-Govern – we all should vote and participate in our governance.
“Those who make the most of these freedoms and achieve their American Dream are the ones who are willing to pursue that dream with unabashed passion, perseverance, hard work, and individual responsibility,” writes Master. “They don’t wait around for the government to lend a hand. Instead, appreciating the good soil in which they find themselves, they seize the opportunity, not only for themselves, but also their families and their communities. They become true Americans, respecting and celebrating its traditions and values.”
He hopes his journey inspires others to safeguard these precious freedoms. And what a journey he has had. Beyond the Golden Door is a memoir that reveals the many obstacles Master had to overcome on his road to finding happiness, prosperity, and peace here. Coming from 1986 Pakistan, a Muslim nation with arranged marriages, widespread corruption, bribe-based businesses, and severe limits on free speech, Master endured culture shock. He measured all of America by his limited view of the world that came from watching TV shows like Dallas, and from reading Archie Comics.
His first few years in the States were challenging. In debt while attending a college thousands of miles from his family and friends, he worked at McDonald’s. He started to date white women out of his faith, and one relationship with a co-dependent woman led him to slash his wrist. But he rebounded and learned to assimilate and eventually fell in love with a woman who turned him onto pursuing a relationship with Christianity. She would become his wife.
In his book, Master poignantly shares with us:
“It’s easy to talk about freedom” says Master. “But unless someone has lived in a world that suffocates freedom, it’s difficult to appreciate the liberty found in America.”
Beyond the Golden Door is an engaging story of a Muslim immigrant who discovers five transformational freedoms. He shows how these freedoms stand in stark contrast to the third-world life he left behind. Master infuses readers, through personal stories and an insightful perspective, with what it means to be an entrepreneur, a patriot, and a passionate risk-taker. His positive, empowering message comes across as genuinely heartfelt and authentic.
Master has a timely message as our nation debates the limits of immigration, the opportunities of capitalism, and the role of faith in our society. Beyond the Golden Door illuminates readers to show them how they can preserve their precious freedoms and contribute to the nation’s legacy—as well as meet the deeper challenge of considering their own life journey.

The popularity system as we know it is going down. Why? Profits. Be assured it is not because of mental health.
Basically, the big internet giants want to decide what shows up as “popular” on the platforms.
We always knew that the data science of profits would eventually take over and, now, you will now be catered only posts and videos that are conducive to profits, especially advertising revenue.
For example, Facebook will decide to push to the top of the feed a post of your friend riding his shiny new bike, right before a bike ad will show up.
On YouTube, you will see videos of featured products, or, better yet, the ones that feature two to three ads within them. Non-monetized videos will rarely show up anymore, even when you carefully search for them with precise keywords.
This is going to be the new world of internet media, where platforms will become heavy-handed media content editors, just like newspapers, radio broadcasters, or TV stations.
Content providers will become slaves to the new rules if they want to still receive money from advertising, trumping on the creative, educational, or entertaining value of their content.
The formerly known “user-driven” platforms will eventually be controlled by the corporate conglomerates when it comes to media content and the importance of popularity and user experience will be kept to the minimum.
These decisions will build an environment of pay-per-post reality, where people who rely on social media for informational or promotional purposes will be overwhelmed with the difficulty of a fair shot on the platforms.
Unless you know what you’re doing, or hire an ad company (or pay for ads), you will be left in the eternal waiting room of visibility.

One time offers are a great way to increase the money you make from each offer. You can get people to agree to purchase a product from you at a lower price that’s only available right that second, making the sale a bit easier.
This is a good way to increase the amount of your sale since they’re already in buying mode. A One Time Offer is shown right after the customer clicks the Buy button. But before they checkout, the OTO is presented for them to consider.
One time offers are a very good way to give customers more value. It’s less expensive than the product would normally be, giving your customers the opportunity to grab another great deal from you while they already have their credit card out.
Another great way to offer additional value is to trade OTOs with other marketers. For example, if you have a product that complements another marketer’s product (and vice versa), then each of you would present the other’s products to your customers as the OTOs, either sharing the revenue or giving the owner 100% in exchange for a reciprocal arrangement.
If you can’t find someone who will JV with you on an OTO offer, you can try to find someone with an affiliate program who will allow you to offer their product as an OTO at a discount. Simply tell them you expect a good volume of sales and you’d like to offer their product at a slight discount.
You probably won’t be able to land a deal like this unless you can prove you can do a large volume of business, because it would mean setting up a special sales page (or at least setting up a coupon code that could be easily tracked with your affiliate ID).
The best OTOs are usually very difficult to say no to. They offer exceptional value at a very special price. There are three separate types of one time offers. One is usually an upgrade to the first product, such as a more comprehensive version of it.
The second could be a coaching program that takes the ideas of the product and offers them in a one-on-one coaching system. And the third could be a turnkey solution that goes along with the product you sold. For example, if you’ve sold an eBook about making money with AdSense, you could offer a package of AdSense templates as the OTO.
Membership sites can also have OTOs. When someone joins your membership site, you could offer them an upgrade to a higher access level. Let’s say you have two access levels – silver and gold.
The silver level typically costs $50 per month, and the gold level costs $100 per month. You could offer anyone who joins at the silver level an upgrade to gold for only $25 more, at $75 per month – a $25 savings off of the normal gold level price. You can also offer one-on-one coaching as an OTO for membership sites. Since memberships are already a monthly fee, coaching is a perfect complement to many membership sites.
Make sure you test your one time offers just like you test any part of your sales copy or site performance. Replace the offers and see which ones convert better and then tweak that offer until it performs as well as it can.

Environmentally-oriented practices are very attractive to customers
As technology companies embark for the latest trends these days, there is a deep sense that making devices smaller, more efficient and less costly is not the only thing in talks at the boardroom and sales pitches.
Environmentally-oriented practices and products do well as brands compete for their piece of the market share. Take a look at Apple, for example, with their billion-dollar infrastructure, based on a product line of devices that boasts to be in the vanguard of reducing the environmental footprint as updated products roll out.
A point of attraction for the potential consumers has become not only the degree of sleekness, design-waviness and efficiency of the product, but how the company deals with the impact that such products have on the sustainability of the environment.
The value of the commitment to protecting the earth has become a sales point that increasingly makes the difference for the consumer to make purchasing choices. This point seems to extend to other non-technology companies, as well.
Many media and newspaper publication have become “green” or paperless in the last ten years. As society revolves around the internet and electronic devices as a source of information, media companies have learned to capitalize the market by saying “good-bye” to paper waste, and implementing more virtual ways to spread their communication.
As environmental issues become front and center, a well-recycled local coffee shop, for example, can also attract more customers due to cleaner recycling and waste management practices. Take Lindsay McCunn, an environmental expert who treasures working at a clean-to-the-environment coffee shop.
The newer generations want more than products. They want clean practices. And there is only one way to give them what they want: good waste management practices. There will come a day that environmentally-friendly practices will become every-day numbers in relation to financial prosperity, if they aren’t already.
